Fabric Blinds
CMC

Fabric blinds are moveable shades that provide complementary sun protection on windows or skylights. They can diffuse light or block radiation, as well as provide insulation, and can be found on either side of the window (inside for glare protection, outside for additional solar gains control.)

Technologies included:
Diffusing Fabric Shades   |   Fabric Solar Screens   |   Shading Fabrics

Facade Daylight Guides
CMC

Facade daylight guides collect exterior daylight with a facade-mounted reflector of specific geometry, transport it into the building either through the window or through an integrated light duct in the ceiling, and distribute it using another reflector.

Technologies included:
Anidolic Systems

Facade Sun Deflection Screens
CMC

See other listing.

Technologies included:

Facade Sun Deflection Screens
CMC

Facade sun deflection screens decrease glare with a screen of repeating specific geometry installed in the upper part of the window. This blocks direct sunlight of certain angles, typically high-angle summer sunlight, while allowing diffuse light and low-angle winter light into the room.

Technologies included:
Anidolic Solar Blinds   |   Light Guiding Shades

Facade Sunlight Guides
CMC

Facade sunlight guides collect sunlight on the facade of the building using passive or active collectors and channel it into the building through ducts in a false ceiling which, in turn, release it into the room below.

Technologies included:
ADASY Project   |   Solar Canopy Illumination System

Fluidized Glazings
CMC

Fluidized glazing systems consist of two light-transmitting fluid layers, the inner one maintaining the interior room temperature and the outside one controlling solar gains by absorption.

Technologies included:
Multifunctional Fluidized Glass Facade

Fresnel Optics Glazings
CMC

Fresnel lenses can be used to either focus light at a single point or redirect scattered light from a single light source in the horizontal direction. They can be stamped in plastic and are much thinner than conventional lenses with a comparable optical effect.

Technologies included:
Fresnel Lenses
